Design Consultation FAQs

What happens during a design consultation?
A design consultation is where we begin to understand your space, your style, and how you want the room to work. We will talk through layout ideas, finishes, storage needs, practical requirements, and the overall look you want to achieve so the project starts with real clarity.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I book?
Not at all. Many clients come to us with a few ideas, saved images, or a general sense of style rather than a finished plan. Part of our role is helping you shape those ideas into something practical, refined, and tailored to your home.
Can you help if I only have a small space?
Yes. Smaller rooms often benefit the most from thoughtful design. Clever storage, careful proportions, and considered layouts can make a compact room feel calm, capable, and beautifully resolved.
Do you only design kitchens?
No. Alongside kitchens, we also design bedrooms and fitted furniture, allowing us to bring the same level of detail, practicality, and premium finish to other key areas of the home.
Can you work around the style of my existing home?
Absolutely. Whether your property is modern, traditional, period, or somewhere in between, we aim to create a design that feels beautifully in keeping with the space rather than forcing a style that does not belong.

Planning & Design FAQs

Can you design my kitchen around the way I live?
Yes. Great design is never just about looks. We consider how you cook, entertain, store things, move through the room, and use the space day to day so the finished design feels natural as well as beautiful.
Can you help with layout ideas and storage solutions?
Yes. Layout and storage are two of the most important parts of the design process. We look at workflow, zoning, tall storage, drawer configurations, corner solutions, hidden storage, and practical features that make everyday use easier.
Can you help me choose colours, materials, and finishes?
Yes. We help bring all the details together, from cabinetry colours and worktop materials to handles, textures, lighting, and the smaller finishing touches that give the room its overall character.
Do you design modern and classic styles?
Yes. We work across a wide range of styles, including contemporary, shaker, traditional, understated, and more architectural interiors. The key is making sure the design feels right for both the property and the client.
Can I bring inspiration images to my consultation?
Yes. Inspiration images are incredibly helpful. They give us a starting point and often reveal preferences in style, colour, detail, and mood, even if you have not yet pinned down the exact design direction.

Quotations & Ordering FAQs

How do quotations work?
Once the design direction, scope, and product choices are clearer, we can prepare a quotation based on the agreed details. Depending on the project, this may evolve as selections, measurements, and final requirements are confirmed.
Is the quotation fixed straight away?
Not always. Quotations can depend on surveys, final measurements, chosen finishes, appliances, worktops, access conditions, and any associated works. We always aim to be as clear as possible about what is included at each stage.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
In most cases, yes. Deposits are usually required to secure the order, commit to supplier production, reserve delivery or installation scheduling, and move the project into the next stage.
Can I make changes after I place an order?
Possibly, but it depends on the stage of the project. Once items have been ordered, manufactured, painted, templated, or specially prepared, changes may no longer be possible or may result in additional charges and revised lead times.
Do you offer finance options?
Finance may be available on selected projects, subject to status, eligibility, and approval. If finance is offered for your project, the full details and terms will be explained separately at the appropriate stage.

Delivery & Installation FAQs

How long does delivery usually take?
Lead times vary depending on the products chosen, the complexity of the project, supplier schedules, and whether items are bespoke or made to order. We will always give the clearest guidance we can based on the project at the time.
Do all items arrive at the same time?
Not always. Some projects involve staged deliveries, particularly where items come from different suppliers or where worktops and specialist components follow later in the programme.
What do I need to do before installation starts?
The room should be ready and accessible, and any agreed preparatory works by other trades should be completed on time. Clear access, safe working conditions, and good communication help installation run as smoothly as possible.
Do you coordinate with other trades?
Depending on the project scope, coordination may involve electricians, plumbers, gas engineers, worktop fabricators, decorators, or other specialists. Timing and responsibilities are usually confirmed as part of the project planning process.
What if something needs adjusting after installation?
Minor adjustments and snagging items can sometimes be part of the normal completion process. If anything needs reviewing, let us know promptly and we will assess the appropriate next step.

Products, Materials & Quality FAQs

Do colours and finishes look exactly the same as samples?
Not always. Samples are a very useful guide, but final appearance can vary slightly because of lighting, room setting, natural material character, and manufacturing variation. This is especially true with wood, stone, ceramic, painted finishes, and textured surfaces.
Do you offer different worktop options?
Yes. Worktop options may include a range of materials depending on the project, such as laminate, quartz, ceramic, timber, or other specialist surfaces. The right choice often depends on the look you want and how you plan to use the space.
Are natural variations in materials normal?
Yes. Natural grain, veining, texture, tonal shifts, and small differences between pieces are part of the character of many premium materials and are not usually considered defects.
Can you supply appliances, sinks, and taps too?
Depending on the project, yes. Appliances, sinks, taps, handles, internal storage, and finishing details can all form part of the wider design and quotation process where required.

Returns, Warranty & Aftercare FAQs

Can bespoke items be returned?
Because many of our products are made to order, made to measure, specially sourced, or tailored to a specific project, return rights may be limited once ordering or manufacture has begun. Exact position depends on the product and the stage of the order.
What should I do if I think something is faulty?
Please contact us as soon as possible with a clear description of the issue, along with photographs if available. We may inspect the matter, review supplier information, and advise on the appropriate remedy or next step.
Do your products come with warranties?
Many products may benefit from manufacturer warranties, supplier cover, or installation-related aftercare depending on the item and project. The exact terms can vary, so any applicable warranty information should always be checked alongside the relevant product documentation.
How should I look after my new kitchen or bedroom furniture?
Always follow the care guidance provided for the specific products and surfaces installed. In general, gentle cleaning, avoiding harsh chemicals, and managing moisture properly will help keep finishes looking their best over time.
